it's finally that time  I can’t believe this is my last blog assignment. Throughout the whole time I’ve been blogging I never would have imagined having so much fun doing it. Each assignment was exciting because each topic was different , each had a valuable lesson. The best thing was that each assignment was tied into our classroom discussions making it valuable because in the blog assignments you would get additional information about the same subject, for instance when we were talking about technology and its impact on people. For that week our assigned blog was to look at a clip from the movie entitled, “Wall-E” which showed a society where technology plays a heavy role in people’s life. As I was watching the movie entitled, "The Truman Show" on Netflix, I couldn’t help but think about what my sister told me about this particular movie. She told me she watched it for her philosophy class and she gave me the readings that pertained to that movie. I read it and saw how the premise of it is transferred to the movie. The reading was about Plato’s Cave allegory and in short terms it makes you question the beliefs we have and if those truth, whether it is religion or politics or other aspects of our life that are not clear . Pink Slime used to make burger meat? The video entitled McDonald’s Pink Slime was quite interesting because I could relate to what the reporters. When I went to the country of Turkey I ate a McDonald’s burger and it tasted so much better compared to the ones sold in the United states. You could tell that the meat was better quality. I don’t understand why we don’t have this sort of standards in the United States. This got me think as to why is it that food like this is so much cheaper than organic food. Thanks to this incident the price of ground beef has gone up. This leaves consumers with two choices; to pay a higher price or pick the cheaper beef. It so much cheaper for consumers to buy these products. 

     I consider boxing to be one of the greatest sports ever because it has a little bit of everything in it; drama, excitement, and disappointment. Some people don’t have the financial backings to go to school or even afford certain things that we might take for granted, and this magnificent sport gives them the opportunity to take a name for themselves and become someone in life. This has been the case for many great boxers. In this sport, anything can happen because it only takes one punch to change everything. People might think that the prize fighter is going to win but the underdog does the unthinkable and knocks the other person out.  This sport is very exciting because we get to see two fighter going head to head, trading blows until one is considered the winner. Have you ever seen the documentary entitled Fresh? This documentary is trying to serve two purposes; to inform people about the food industry, and advocating for a better alternative.  This film informs people about several methods that industrial farms practice in to produce more food, for instance, farmers were feeding cow meat to the other cows. This would cause cows to grow much faster than feeding them the traditional food they eat. It also informed people about all of the drugs that are given to the animals and the mass production of these animals. Intensive animal farming causes problems because it creates a living environment where diseases and infections flourish. The farm lands where the crops are being farmed are sprayed with so many things to kill several insects, and it being way to new bugs and new problems.    Yesterday boxing fan was able to witness another spectacular performance from the Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez. Alvarez faced undefeated British fighter Liam Smith for the WBO lightweight championship of the world. Canelo didn’t let the people down, dropping Liam in the 9 th round via a monstrous body shot. Liam was knocked out and couldn’t continue. My respect goes to Liam because he came to fight and he did. He gave Canelo a fight trading blows with him. If Liam had more power in his hands there might have been a different winner. Canelo showcased his superior boxing skills, but is he ready for Golovkin? What if it was Golovkin hitting Canelo? As I watched the clip of the movie “Wall-E” , I was not surprised of what technology does to a society. It provides people easy access to things with little to no effort at all. This clip has some relevant to our current society because both are ruled by technology, yet not to the same degree but current technology is advancing so much that this might be our future. development for self driven cars has already started which would no longer require people to know how to operate vehicles. Devices like these make people lazy since it requires little to no effort for them. I thought the smart chair as I’m going to call it was an interesting device because it provided everything a person needed. It was designed to provide people with everything they need for instance it had a virtual screen which you can use to video chat with people. It had buttons that had several functions to them. Last Saturday we witness a phenomenal showdown between WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin against Kell Brook. This was an interesting matchup because no one wanted to go up against Golovkin expect for Brook who went up two weight classes to fight him. In the opening of the first round Golovkin came out swinging and hurt Brook, and it seemed as if the fight was gonna be over but Brook came back with some devastating punches. I had never seen anyone hit Golovkin like that. In the second round Golovkin landed a devastating punch that shattered Brook’s eye socket. Despite this injury he kept on going forward, trading punches with Golovkin. In the fifth round Brooks’s corner decided to stop the fight because of the injury. We have to give a lot of props to Brook because he went up two weight classes to face a man that no one wants to face. Golovkin now improved his record to 36 wins with zero losses. Technology has advanced so much that it has impacted our society in both a positive and negative way for instance the laptop. This invention lets use surf the web and communicate with people around the world. Now you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your home to go shopping you can just order things online. This may be good but it can have a negative effect on people. People can just search things on the web instead of going out to the library and reading books to find out the information. In the video Top 10 Inventions of All Time it talks about inventions that have shaped our lives and have made way for other inventions.               I wanted to share this video with the class because it's very informative about technology that has changed the world. Since these inventions the world has changed  a lot . I've found this video to be very educational, so I would like to share it with the rest of you.

    Boxing fanatics have been waiting to see Canelo Alvarez go up against Middleweight Campion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin . Golovkin has a perfect record of 34 wins and 31 by the way of knockout. He is considered the pound for pound king since Mayweather and Pacquiao retired but the face of boxing is Canelo.     Canelo defended his WBC world middleweight championship against Amir Kahn in which Canelo landed a devastating punch which knocked out Amir in the sixth round.  After the fight, Canelo invited Golovkin up to the ring showing the world that he wasn’t scared to face him. Golovkin was the mandatory WBC challenger so Canelo had to face him or vacant the title. It was later announced that Canelo vacant the title, so Golovkin was made the new WBC world middleweight Campion. Up until a couple of days ago, I didn’t realize that some of the websites I visited daily are blogs. Realizing what they are now, I find them to be a tool that can be beneficial, informative and entertaining part of the Internet. Blogs let people express their creativity in writing. If you just want to write about your life adventures then make a blog about it.  Blogs are very important because they let you express yourself through writing; if you have an opinion on a topic which intrigues you, blog about it.
